Skoda Connect: a little confused...

Featured Replies

Hi all. Recently acquired a new-to-me Kodiaq, and I have a few questions about what I've got/what I should have!

The Skoda connect portal seems a little confused about what I bought. It was advertised and sold as an 'Edition' model (1.4 TSI DSG 4x4, 5 seat). In the vehicle details tab of Skoda Connect, it calls my car's trim 'Style'; in the generated digital certificate 'SE L'. If it helps, it has electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats, power boot (but not virtual pedal, AFACT) lanekeeping/sign recognition/front assist/blind spot monitoring but standard cruise control (not adaptive), and is 4wd so has the 'offroad' button. The glovebox unit has two SD card slots, a sim card slot and a CD (or possibly DVD) drive. It was listed as registered in 2018, but the digital cert says it was manufactured in 2017.

I registered the 30-day trials for the Skoda connect services, and so in the app/website I can see the status of the windows/locks, remaining range and a few other things, but I don't seem to have any options for remote unlock (which if I've read correctly was only available from the late 2018 models on) *or* for honk/flash.

Is that what I should expect, or am I missing functionality that needs, say, a SIM card or a software update or some such?

Cheers!

The Edition model has leather seats, whereas the SEL would have alcantara .

It would also have 19” Triglav alloy wheels, and silver roof rails.

I believe the edition was a UK only model, and it was common to have them named as the European model it was based on ie Style.

Then the Edition is what we have — black leather throughout. Thanks!

Not necessarily - the leather seats were an option on the SE-L.

What colour are the roof rails? If they are black, then it's an SE-L. If they're silver, it's an Edition.

They're silver -- sorry, should have mentioned that in my previous reply. :)

Now I just have to figure out if any of the Connect remote 'actions' work on this model, or if it's info-only. Not sure it's worth paying for once the trial is over if all I can do is see status...

If it was built in 2017, then no, there is no remote access. That came in MY2018, which annoyed me because my first Kodiaq was made Jan 2018 and so I missed out too.

But to be fair - my new one has them and I don't use that functionality anyway 😆.

Ah well, was worth checking. We're sufficently dopey/paranoid about 'did we lock the car' that going back to press the lock button one more time is almost habit — so I think we'd have used that remote lock functionality if it was on the car.

TVM.

As said won’t have remote action, but would show car is locked, windows closed and lights off, would save you a walk back to check :)

Honk/flash works on my 2017 Edition, as does displaying the status of windows and doors. No remote unlock though, as you've already discovered.
