Infotainment screen suddenly stops working and it's not the fuse!

Hello all ... I do hope someone can help! As the subject line ..... this happened 2 days ago since when I've tried the "reset" procedure and also inspected/replaced the relevant fuse..... the screen is still blank and won't connect with my telephone (the most impopsrtant thing)....... any ideas? (On a budget, sadly!) TIA

Do you have VCDS or any other diagnostics tool to connect and check via CAN?

Sadly no I don't I'm afraid .....

Then I suggest you find someone on Briskoda who is close to you and has such a tool (VCDS, Vag Can Pro, OBD Eleven, ODIS) and can connect to see if there is any communication possible with the unit. meanwhile you can let me know VIN on PM so I can check your car configuration and let you know what the options are.

Hi. I have a leak of diesel or oil from my Octavia 1.6 diesel engine and I am taking it to get steam cleaned etc today before driving down to a garage for them to check the leak . Is it ok for me to continue to drive my car around ? I have been for quite a while with this burning smell, the garage has said it should be fine but I just wanted some other advice. No warning lights come on and the car runs ok . Thank you.

I have attached a universal relay but the towbar lights do not work?? see image There is power but lights do not work? Do i need to add something? help! New 26 plate Fabia Hatch SE Edition 1.0 TSI 116 PS DSG Anyone know how to find and/or reset a trip counter with this all-digital interface? No wee button to press now! Can't find it anywhere and no mention at all in the user manual. Can set MPG per trip but that's not really the same. Thanks for any insight or help.

Ok, Car is 38 months old and, out of warranty, with 37500 miles done, so was due its fourth fixed service. First three done by Meadens Skoda in Brockenhurst in Hampshire and all good there. I have owned it from new and I did the fourth service yesterday:- 4 litres of oil and new filter. Filter at the front of the engine from below, twist off/on. Oil drain plug is 19mm at back of engine. Spark plugs required at 40k miles so did them as well. They were
