Pikey Mod for vRS!

Featured Replies

Picked this up tonight from a MkV Golf GTi owner. Apparently if you remove the top cover of the air filter intake near to the radiator (it's loosely clipped in place) it should improve air intake and therefore a miniscule improvement in performance, apparently!

Just spotted this too, another 'pikey' CAI ?;)

That second one looks cool - You remove a perfectly straight through pipe from right at the front of the engine bay and fit a small bore flexible pipe from low down in all the crap.

Bet you can't wait to give that a go Steve.

Stu, you forgot this.

Oh yeah - Sorry Des. :P

I like the idea of the first one - it's growing on me the more I think about it.

You remove the bit of plastic on the top so that instead of the air being pushed into the air intake it swirls into the engine bay and keeps it cool. I suppose if you did Pikey 1 and Pikey 2 at the same time you'd really see the gains.

Wow those claws are sharp!

How much do you gain from the roll of gaffer tape on the fuse box? :D

gaffer sticks to everything so -200BHP :)

A Golf owner told Mr Makefish about removing the piece of plastic last night at the Ace Cafe meet, and it was done straight away, so plenty of time to test on the way back to Hants.

So what was the end result Steve???????:P

Aye, I did try it but it made no noticable difference and when you start to think about it more it would drag in more warm air than cold so it's back on now!. As for the piccy you cheeky sod, I think you've spotted the 'VW' badge on the engine cover  :P

Wow Gerry you've hooked a big un - Reel him in!!

Just watch your back for the next time.
