Audi Seats in a PFL vrs

Featured Replies

Hey guys, bit long winded;

Wanted to know if anyone had changed to a full leather A3/A4 sline heated seat with electric controls into their PFL vrs? I have blackline seats but no heated function.

I was looking for heated blackline leathers to no avail as their pretty rare so I was going to go with the Audi S line seats. My model of vrs uses the 5 stage heated seat switches and the newer blackline seats and Audi seats are powered using the 3 stage heated seat switches.

To summarise, if I get a PFL kufatec loom for heated seat/electric seat and 5 stage heated seat switches and 2008-2015 B8 A4/A3 S line electrically adjustable and heated seats or even S4/S5 seats, will it work or are the connectors different on the seats?

I understand the rest of the coding etc etc. But want to know will it work physically with connectors before I start!

I also want to change seats on my O2 FL to this one from audi. How much did it cost you for these seats?

I didn't get any yet. Want to make sure its gonna work first😅

Did you end up doing this?

I was browsing through the internet and found something similar, RS4 seats fitted inside the O2 FL. I'm not sure about the heating though

I was looking for a similar retrofit myself, I want leather seats with memory, heat and ventilation but I have no idea what seats to look for. I heard that Passat seats might be a relatively plug & play mod

Hi,

I did do something along the lines but I went a different route. I got blackline VRs seats from the 2012 model. Their full leather but had no heating and I left it for a year then split the seats apart and fitted all genuine heated elements and looms etc. airbag and seatbelt plugs were the same.

Only plugs that match the Octavia in the Audi line would be from the A3 line such as S3 or S line. Not sure about the RS3. The RS4 and larger Audis use different small plugs in different colours where as the Octavia/A3/Golf use a large 10 pin black connector for all functions such as heated seats, electric lumbar, electric seats etc. The Passat also uses the same 10 pin black connector but the airbag connector maybe different depending on the model you get the seats from but these can be changed or joined to work anyways.

To summary, Your best bet or easiest is to get the seats out of a Passat with ventilated/heated and get a loom from Kufatec to suit. As the A4 connectors are all different and will take a bit of modifying and wiring to work.

Now that was a fast reply, wow. 🤩

This is the guy that did the Passat swap in his Skoda (in the video it's a Skoda Laura for the indian market but I assume the only difference to the Octavia is the name) He's also doing an AWD swap and more mods to the car, his content is pretty cool

I'm having a hard time choosing because I really dislike how the Passat & newer Skoda seats look, I can't find any A3 / S3 / Golf seats with all the features and as you said, the other models have different plugs. I found a lot of Audi A5 8T seats that look beautiful, not too old / boring, not too sporty. Do you think it's a lot of work, changing the wiring and plugs to fit the Octavia?

Also have you changed the rear seats as well? Or other interesting quality of life mods to your Octavia?

I stuck with a set of Octavia VRS FL black lines and then made them heated. As regards using other seats wiring will be the first issue the second is you’ll have to modify the rear seats to fit so that it all matches, in particular the side parts as the other cars will have different shapes.

Oh in regards mods, I’ve done loads! Have still some to do including engine work, maxidot cluster and vent illumination wheels like the superb. I’ve done LK door handle lights, footwell lights, 10 inch CarPlay radio, wireless charging, FL climate control, FL heated, puddle lights, electrically folding, and dimming exterior mirrors, Touareg Interior mirror (red lights shine on gearstick), triple rear dome light, and complete LED bulb upgrade (and I mean every bulb is led).
