Cable access to center console?

I've found that mounting my phone to the left of the sterring wheel doesn't work for me & I much prefer it mounted to the right but this leave the problem og getting a cable to it. I've read some of the guides on here but what I would like to do is get a USB cable into the center console from behind the dash so I can plug it into the port below the cigarette lighter.

I can't feel an opening at the back of the console so has anyone found a route into the phone charger/lighter compartment?
