MB1 firmware update

Hi.

Any firmware update file for 5G0 035 050 MIB1 unit? Installed software train: MHIG_JP_VW_P0227. Been referred here and I am sure will get help   I have a VW MK7 2014 Golf variant, thanks

I don't think any MHIG firmwares ever got released I'm afraid to say.

You have MHIG_JP_VW, and I only have MHIG_EU_VW or MHIG_RW_VW firmwares.

I really appreciate you going out of your way to assist. I think both or one would solve my sound issue since in the morning when i start the car the radio has sound but in i switch the engine off the the infortainment don't have sound.

Kindly share I try the update since In Kenya and not using Navigation.

The firmware will not just work, it checks firmware in head and will reject update.

It is perhaps possible to change regions, but not simply.  I do not wish to share update that will most likely brick your radio.

Yes I see your thread, if you can supply coding, then perhaps others can help.

I did look about for changing firmware regions, but nobody has posted too much about it.

Have done so on VCDS forum right but I am just a layman with coding. Getting help there currently and hope all goes well

Attached the VCDS reports. I saw in another forum the firmware may be updated by different region since the car may be used in different regions. Mine is not in Japan so may change, Kindly requesting for the MHIG firmware you have?

There is no point in sending a firmware that will not work/load

In short, you need to locate some actual hacking instructions to change firmware regions and post here, or find a forum where they specialise in this sort of thing.

If you find some clear instructions on the task, then get back in touch.  Without clear instructions I can check, I don't wish it to be a one-way trip to broken head unit.

i have similar problem with my Discovery in VW MK7, sound dont working, then i go to service mod, go update, select sd card, wait 5 sec go to media and then working to next car stop

 

also sometimes while driving right speakrs dont work

My software train at MiB1 High is MHIG_RW_VW_S0344_1.(VW GOLD GTI 2014)

Can you please provide update train for this.

 

I tried updating my NAVDB and now my existing setup is not working unfortunately.

It says insert storage device with valid nav data. i have tried downloading map from vw site, and still same. The unit also keeps getting stuck frequently.

I have a Skoda Octavia VRS - VIN: TMBKK7NE0E0079144

I’ve been reading a few threads & it seems I have a common problem, but I’m still not sure what to do exactly.

My Columbus infotainment system has lost its sound, then all of a sudden it will come back on again until I turn the engine off, then it might come back on again or might not. I have tried all the resets suggested & again sometimes they might work but chances are it won’t. I don’t know wether to replace the whole system or replace the cd changer/sd card box or get an update installed to the system & hope that works. I have been to my local dealer but they weren’t very helpful, they can run some tests but not sure if will find problem & will cost me £200. Can someone help a very frustrated guy please? What happened to being able to simply swap a system out?
