Could anyone confirm if an 18" space saver from a mk5 Golf fit a Mk3 Octavia VRS?

 

After reading the various threads I am aware that it needs to be an 18" wheel to clear the caliper. Just want to make sure it will be the right offset etc. from a mk5 Golf.

As you can see below, 17" wheels can be fitted to the Octavia MK3 VRS. The Octavia MK3 facelift diesel VRS has smaller front 312mm discs, so 16" wheels will fit those cars.

 

205/50R17 tyres fitted to either 6Jx17 ET45 or 6Jx17 ET48 rims are approved for snow chains. 225 tyres are too wide for snow chains on the Octavia MK3. 

 

You could use a 205/50R17 tyre fitted to a 6.5Jx17 ET38 5/112 57.1 steel rim from the Kodiaq. That will clear the front brake calipers on the 340mm diameter front brake discs.

Thanks for the above Carlston. Didn't realise a 17" would clear. I am going to stick with a space saver though as they seem to be cheaper to pick up used.
