DGS 7 speed auto box.

Featured Replies

Hi.
I have the above box in my car.
I contacted a local indi about a service on the box as I was under the impression that it needed to be serviced at 40k.
They contacted me this morning saying that my box is sealed for life. But if I wanted it done they could do it. Would you recommend that I get this done for a peace of mind. I had a XF Jaguar before this car and that had a Sealed for life box. Then Jaguar came out last year saying that they recommend that the box should be serviced.
  Thanks in advance.
     Ricky.

Might be idea to post mileage and year.

@roottoot tends to be the forum DSG maintenance guy, will be able to assist soon.

AFAIK, it’s only an oil change every 40k

Edit: Sorry, that's for 6 speed only.

No. Not if a 2010 7 speed.

That will be a DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG.  So no oil changes.

BUT.

No way is it sealed for life, because a world wide recall was started in 2012 excluding Europe.

We got a Service Campaign '34F7' started in Match 2014.

That was the Synthetic Oil changed for mineral & a software update.

That means any Skoda Dealership staff or an Independent that knows their arse from elbow knows they are not sealed for life.  (nothing is really)

Some do change the Oil.

2 Oils, in the MCU and in the Box, but no need to do that.

2011 with 40k.

So check if a sticker in the boot / spare tyre well with '34F7'.  If so the oil was changed.

The main stealer should be able to look it up on the interweb and then tell you at no charge.

Sticker in the boot (sometimes)

In your car manual (sometimes)

Printed on the physical gearbox

Visit dealers for a full printout

Web chat to Skoda

I do believe KGV is the code for Superb II 6-speed automatic gearbox 09G that's "maintenance free"

EDIT: Above code could be wrong, need to check against what you find.

Additional Information

@Blackbeltuk You know what engine you have.  There was only DQ200 7 speed DSG's in 2011.    Wet Clutch were 6 speed.

You have the letter for Registered Keepers of cars with DQ200 DSG's.  *34F7 was carried out in July 2014*.

I assume the car is Front Wheel Drive and with no more than 150 ps (Fabia vRS were 180ps) and not over 250 Nm.

So a 1.4 or 1.8 TSI or a 1.6 TDI.     No 2.0 TSI or TDI's got a DQ200.

PS.

Checked your Reg No.  So a 1.8TSI in Black.   160ps ???  My bad.
