CarPlay stopped working

Was just fine this morning. Went to work, Spotify was playing, Google Maps was navigating... Started the car to come home... no joy 😞

The phone (iPhone XS, IOS 16) just connects to Bluetooth and as an iPod media device. The CarPlay logo went missing from the SmartLink menu, so i don't suspect it's an iPhone/Apple/IOS issue. Will test later with another iPhone (ancient iPhone 6) as well as with an Android device (all of the previously connected to the system). With the CarPlay logo missing, i don't expect different results from the other iPhone.

The SmartLink feature was recently added to the car through an official dealer/service partner.

Any takes on this?

UPDATE:

Tests with another iPhone didn’t went well, as expected. Unpaired the Bluetooth connection on both sides and removed the CarPlay settings from the phone… no joy 😞

In the meantime, some forums suggested to reboot the infotainment. Didn’t help either (or i’m doing it wrong) 😞

UPDATE 2 - SOLVED

Did a factory reset on the SmartLink in the car and i have CarPlay again.

What’s the best parts finder app/website?

Hey everybody! I am a proud owner of a 2017 Octvaia 1.8TSI for two months now. Does anybody know what app/website is the best to find parts for your car? (a brake change is shortly due, and would be awesome to have a website which works and finds parts through VIN’s like ETKA). Thanks for the help in advance Benjamin

I’ve seen two cars on Autotrader, both 2018 and the technical and details in the ads suggest one is 227 BHP and the other is 242. Both appear to be the facelift variant, based on the split front headlights. Is there any other way of confirming the engine BHP apart from relying on the advert contents? Thanks

As title. Alpine i902-OC3 unit. Ideal replacement for an MIB1 Octavia Mk3. Adds wired CarPlay, full comparability with steering wheel controls, and cars standard infotainment features (except telephone button on the wheel). Best to read up about this unit online if interested. Also comes with Canton adaptor box if required. Hi again. I have a 1.6 tdi My daughter recently had to sell her VW Sharan after the DPF was pronounced dead. At least 2K to fix,probably much more.Her car was low mileage,full service history. Can I protect the DPF on our much older vehicle,are there options if it clogs up? Thankyou

Hi again. The service light won't reset using the press the trip method ,also the aircon won't blow out of the face vents despite recalibrating (might be another fault I guess) so Im thinking I'll need to reset the service light with a diagnostic tool Which one though? I should add I've never used one .
