Car was in maintanse. Radiator fan is noot working. They bypass the control unit / relay and the fan started to spin. They said it would cost about 500 € to fix.

 

Just ordered the part. 5J0919506 

 

Now I just need to know where that part is located? Looked from workshop manual but Ican't find it.

 

Car is Skoda Fabia estate Nj5, 2015 with 1,2 TSI

It will be hanging from the left chassis leg, just near the bottom corner of the radiator. Follow the wiring back from the fan motor.

Did you manage to fix car mine was the same part from Skoda was £250 got one delivered £22 had to get Skoda to fit it

Trying to find my fan control module on a polo 6C GTi. @Breezy_PeteI'm probably blind but is it definitley on the chassis leg next to the fan connector?

 

The module isn't even shown on the part diagram just in the parts list so I'm struggling to find it.

 

I've currently got the opposite issue to OP where my fans wont turn off until the ECU goes to sleep 😕

I think I'd expect the control module to be built into the main fan if so.

How many wires and what colours at main fan connection?

2017 polo GTi 1.8

 

Any idea where? As pictures of the reverse of the fan shroud don’t show anywhere for a module to go that I can see.

part number is 6C0121207A so I’d assume it’s specific to the polo?

Built into the right-hand fan in that pic, judging by number of wires.

Something like this, where J293 is the control module.

As I’m getting 

1 Fault Found:
15048 - Coolant Fan Control Circuit 1 
          P0480 00 [039] - Electrical Malfunction
          Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

 

which I can replicate by just unplugging the connector to the fan pack.

 

Still need to check wiring as now the fault comes back almost immediately after clearing. However getting the fans out doesn’t seem to be as straight forward as sliding them out the top.

I think so, yes.

Check the wiring out thoroughly first though.

And fuse 18, the ignition switched feed fuse.

And the black/violet wire from engine ECU.

Give me engine code and I can probably find pin number at ecu. Tomorrow.

Missed it out but the engine code is DAJA. Not sure if it’ll have any bearing but it has all extras minus Dynaudio and electronic suspension. Battery is also in the boot/luggage compartment.

I you go behind the right hand fog light you can feel it near the radiator

Fan control wire is at pin 12 of 91-way connector at engine ECU, black/violet 0.75mm²

And with battery in boot, you're looking at the *3 versions of the wiring in the screenshot above. clicking should make it bigger/clearer, I hope.
