2011 fabia 1.6 tai glow plug light flashing

Featured Replies

My daughter has a fabia mk2 and  have had the issue of the flashing light ... when code reader has been on it says  over boost and underboost?

/ turbo vanes wrong position....We tried new actuator and new n75 pressure valve and still the same thing was happpening.

in the end a local mechanic has fitted a new turbo and of filter too. The car was brought back on the notion of being fixed , but when my daughter went to take it home  the flashing light returned and it dropped into limp mode ( paid 1,000 pounds for the job ).the car has now been parked up as the mechanic says he’s done all he can do with it!!

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the issue can be as obviously its not the turbo, i’ve Even had a check of the valve pipes from the pressure valve and they seem ok.

1.6 TDI problems are usually faulty injectors, the rest of the engine is largely reliable.

You probably should have come here for a chat before chucking a bag of sand down the drain!

I’ve spent nothing on it, daughter has. A full diagnostic was done on it leading towards the turbo  which was changed but still has the issues.
injectors are all fine .

More likely to be the actuator than the turbo, still if a full diagnostic was done then it should be fixed, I was simply remarking that the 1.6 tdi has a bad reputation for injector failure. Hey, at least it's not your money that's being wasted, amirite?

It’s a bloody pain in the  ass this car, only got 90k on it. When the turbo was fitted it comes as a complete unit with the actuator.  Just wish we could solve the problem as the car hasn’t been used for 8 months and she’s only owned it a year almost!

I had similar light used vag com and turned out to be blocked DPF washed clean by professional company and fitted new before and after sensors, which put a lot of pressure on turbo seals slight weep into exhaust side so ended up replacing that too

She’s had a new turbo and dpf filter  and still same fault codes…. Underboost/overboost and vain position incorrect

Has the new actuator been adapted in software?

Adapted??
turbo and actuator came as a complete unit

The Actuator is electronic and the ECU needs to know where the maximum and minimum limits are, you would hope that a professional garage would know how to do this but in my experience mechanics view electrical stuff as witchcraft.

Can I ask, who plugged the reader? Was it the mechanic?

I would have uncoupled the dpf after the new turbo and tested (without driving) to see if the same code comes up.
