So far i cant reccommend him enough, james has been superb. I originally emailed him on a sunday and to my suprise he replied within minutes:thumbup:

He'll be round this weekend as hes in the area.

Cant Wait..

Watch This Space!!!!!!

i had a go in a chipboost vrs on sunday @ the xscape meet. i was impressed with the power, similar to my jabba custom map, and only a slight difference in performance i would estimate. but for £150 can you complain

Got a Tuning box on mine, still keeping the same MPG generally and now loads more torque and Bhp, cant fault it!!!!

infact, why wasnt this power standard on furbys??

in short it should be, aka PD160 Ibiza. However it's probably to keep an image of it being a luke warm hatch and not to tread on VW/Seat's toes, also it keeps the insurance down.

On the remap side of things they take away some of the safe guards built into an engine as standard they are set to work in all conditions on very poor fuel grade quality, by tuning the vehicle it means you will need to keep on top of regular servicing and put in a decent grade diesel (UK stuff is pretty good anyway). it will also cause extra stress on engine components and reduce engine life span.

Because Skoda would end up stumping up loads of cash to replace all the knackered clutches

Chris

they should of offered a version with a better clutch and tuning box all in!!

but then again, i suppose its defeating the point of buying a diesel if you not gaining any mpg from it

The second thing would have been the need for a proper FMIC (or a vented SMIC) as the standard SMIC struggles with the standard boost :)

James came down loaded software to my ecu and i took it for a drive.

It is amazing, pull all the way through to the red line. It was like driving another car.

I went round a roundabout dropped it to second and planted it on exiting the roundabout and it wheel spun.

Absolutely fantastic!!!I CAME BACK WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE!!

Cant reccommend James enough,Nice bloke, quick and easy service.

Highly RECCOMMENDED!!!

What power are you now producing mate ?

He told me 175bhp but the only real way to tell would be to rolling road it.

Nevertheless i'm over the moon with the power its immense and for the money it is well worth it!!!How many places do you know that charge £200 for a remap and do it on a sunday afternoon on your driveway!!

Fantastic!!Feels quicker than my GTI-6 AND RALLYE I HAD BEFORE.

After he left you he came to me to do mine, unfortunately it wouldn't work again sa I need to get my ECU flashed back to normal, was lookin forward to 210bhp as well :(

still it won't put me off using him, he is a great bloke.

Gutted to here that he hasn't been able to do the remap:( , hope you can get the standard map so he can then get it up where it belongs.

Ah right!!He said he had an octavia to do!

What was the problem?

Oh well, if it had of been done then I would of probably gone out and the wheel would of fell off anyway, will have to take it to Skoda or Awesome to get it put back to normal.

I'll survive for the time being with it as it is.

still goes ok, just not great!

I had a revo trial on it a while ago and when the time elapses it does not revert back to the original ECU map, but to a revo one which puts it near standard. Unfortunately it makes it a pain in the bum to overwrite the revo software as it thinks you are going to try and reactivate the 6 hour trial software. The only thing that can be done is prey that a nice Skoda dealer can upload my original ECU settings and wipe off the revo stuff.

NIGHTMARE!

OR ALTERNATIVELY, You BUY the REVO software?

Very Crafty!!

James said to me that it doesn't revert back to the standard ecu, he thought he had a fix for it! I'm sure he'll sort it!!;)

you will have had the same map as mine. fantastic for the money and when put up against some of these more expensive re maps it can hold its own i tell you.

my mate has a 306 gti 6 and when tested against mine over a distance of about half a mile i was at least 5 car lengths in front.

daz:thumbup:

He mentioned your user name mate, you had it mapped last sunday at XScape?

Wow!! I used to have a GTI-6 and a Rallye, i think the fabia feels faster than both now its remapped!!!

ive had it done for about 2 months now. i was at xscape but already had the remap, must of confused me with one of the others there who got a remap from him. best £200 ive ever spent!

jabba/chipboost map's are very different. I noticed the chipboost one had an initial surge, mine was more progressive but both seemed to have the same end result, however i still believe a jabba mapped one does have the legs on the chipboost one. But tbh, i'd expect that for the extra £225 i shelled out for it.
