Paint

Featured Replies

I run a stone grey metallic octavia and have noticed that the painted plastic parts are a slight mismatch with the bodywork which is not unusual for a metallic. (I have seen it on Audis that are the same colour). However the rear bumper seems to be quite noticably different. The car has not been repaired while I have had it and I bought it as an ex demo. When I bought it the match appeared fine and almost seems to have faded? for some reason. My new local Skoda dealer were no help at all (Sylk Macclesfield) Any body got any advice please?

I have a car in the same colour which shows no sign of fading - I would be disappointed if it did. I recommend you have another word with your dealer once you have looked up the details of the paintwork guarantee.

I would have thought this is covered under your warranty (paint or otherwise). If you get no joy from your dealer you could always PM Nikki (LadyLoki) or ring her at Skoda customer services to see if she can help.

My rear bumper is noticably lighter than the rest of the car, stone grey metallic, but this is due to having a replacement bumber due to some nice person hitting and running! The bodyshop had to resort to getting the paint rep in to match the paint as they couldnt get a satisfactory match despite 6 attempts, have also noticed that the official touch-up is lighter too, like the colour but really sorry I got this colour as it seems almost impossible to match :ukliam:
