PCV valve inside the cover

Thanks, I thought it was but then started to doubt myself. Can you post me a link to a new part that is correct for a 2010 1.6tdi and is it an easy replacement?

What is the VIN?

The cover assembly is part number 03L 103 469 R and £222.83 from a Skoda dealer or TPS plus you would need two injector bolts WHT 003 187 and it is a good idea to replace the injector seals WHT 000 884 and fire rings 03L 130 519 when you disturb them.

So you cant just replace the PCV itself whilst using the original cover? Seems like it could be quite an expensive replacement. Are these usually an issue / something that does require replacement? I thought it would be pretty cheap so it was worth doing due to the fact I saw some smoke / fumes come out of here, is that linked to requiring a replacement or is it likely more sinister?

You need to check any pipework nearby for splits or leaks, have you topped up the oil recently and spilled any?

I have to admit i havent had it that long so i havent topped up the oil as the level is fine. I had a slight issue with it going into limp mode and when i looked under the bonnet i saw something from undert he engine cover. I removed it and it looked like some smoke / fumes from that valve / disc.

The smoke is probably coming from underneath that area and rising around it, I suspect that oil has been spilt during a clumsy top up and is burning off.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets worse.

Thats good to know as there looks to be a bit around the filler cap which i did think could be spilt oil. I will attempt to clean it all off and then see if i see it again. I need to see what caused the Limp mode and cross my fingers that it isnt anything serious.

Limp mode will not be related, there will be a code stored if you can read them.

Do you think it could be an injector issue or as i have a split in the exhaust between the flexi and the DPF could it be this and the fact the exhaust gases arent going through the DPF and sensors throwing something out with the ECU getting odd readings?

What is the fault code when it goes into limp?

Unfortunately i havent managed to get it plugged in. It has only done it once and when accelerating relatively hard. I have only driven it a couple of times gently over short distances since.

I'm suggesting that we avoid guessing games, plug in a code reader and see what's what.

Yes of course but is there any possibility it could be related to the exhaust / DPF or is that very unlikely? Just trying to brace myself for how many issues i might have to repair.

During hard acceleration it could even be overboost, if it's exhaust related taking it for a long fast motorway run should clean it up.

Following the exhaust being fixed it still went into limp mode under acceleration in 5th up an incline.
It went back and they found an intermittent fuel regulator issue when plugged in and codes read. It had a new fuel regulator and switch. Within a couple of days it did it again so it’s back in the garage.
fingers crossed they can work it out this time.
