CONNECTIVITY AND SATNAV FOR SKODA YETI OUTDOOR 2.0 CR SE BUSINESS 2015

Thank you. Yup, they have just sent me my copy of the signed sales paperwork, which was strangely absent from my sales pack.

This does not mention Business, but I am in no doubt that they advertised it as such on their site, and on affiliate sites ( I at least have this saved) and continued to let me believe I was buying a car with satnav in our discussions.

They are claiming that the only info they have on their own sales advertising is removed and irretrievably deleted at the point of sale, and that there is no hard copy.

I’ve suggested they think very hard where this evidence may still remain, as in the absence of that, my saved Autotrader file ( thank god) would be the only evidence they could rely on in regards to their presale descriptions.

And I also have paperwork from a different dealer describing it as a Yeti Outdoor 2.0 TDi CR SE Bus

As it’s definitely a car, and not a large public service vehicle, I think it reasonably fair to expect they mean Business.

And so do I!

Liking your style there. 👍

Well, I’ve just had a very apologetic call from the general manager.

Funnily enough, after contacting the site that runs their adverts, they have been able to identify that a mistake had been made in the listing, although they are unable to recreate a printout. Funny that! 🤔

I’ve also told them they are breaking distance selling laws by not providing particulars presale for the customer to retain and rely on post sale….I bought the car unseen, apart from what they put in the ad and told me on the phone.

So, I have been offered the option of returning the vehicle, but I do like it, so I have suggested they compensate me up to the spec difference for starters.

also learnt that there is no one in the team ( not sure if that’s just sales or service/admin as well) who has been there longer than about 6 months…clearly a history of in-house problems there.

I’ve told them I’ll be back in touch when I have worked out what I am missing. I doubt this will result in a new satnav device, so won’t be needing the se card, but thank you for the offer ejstubbs.

Feels like

a) I’m winning

and

b) I’m not going gaga as I had indeed remembered correctly what they had advertised.

Lastly, I’m just as certain the ad said Full Skoda Service History…yet there’s no record of anything being done other than a first service after exactly two years at 19700 miles in Sept 2017 to 48500 miles in July 2022.

I’m imagining I would not be unreasonable in suggesting that that does not comprise a FSH? Thoughts anyone?

Thank you for all your assistance and guidance…I’ll stay in touch with the site and will be happy to offer forensically derived advice or consumer rights type of text for other similar matters, so please ask.

Disclaimer…I am not a legal, mechanical or consumer rights expert, however I do write decent poetry and am proficient at pouring alcoholic, soft, and hot drinks and preparing hot foodstuffs (as long as they begin with P… “would you like  pasty or a pizza, sir?”) at my workplace by beside the River Torridge in North Devon

Well, it MIGHT be a FSH if, indeed,  the car wasn't serviced at all between 19700 and 48500 miles,  nearly 29000 miles without any attention.  If that's the case,  I'd be handing it back,  however much you like it!

Actually just no record on the system of what was done.  So assume nothing was.  But that could have been a proper mechanic actually doing work, not ticking a sheet and putting on the VW system.     Skoda approved Full Main Dealer Service Histories are often a history of not serviced to Manufacturers recommendations, guidelines or schedules.    They warranty a car, yet if you bought a car and bought a warranty and had a claim that can be knocked back as not serviced according to recommendations.   As often happens.

FYI, you might want to remove your VIN and other details from that picture.

If you can't take it down let me know and I'll be happy to do so, such that you can then post an edited version with those details blacked out.

I think I would be asking for

 - Activation of smartlink so you can use the satnav on your phone to cover for the missing sat-nav

 - A full haldex service at no charge

 - AdBlue service so they can check it, plus a couple of spare bottles so you can top it up yourself.

 - An extended warranty on the vehicle, to cover anything that might go pop due to the incomplete service records.

 - The next service(or if you're feeling cheaky a service plan) FOC for the inconvienince (Assuming the dealer is local)

These are all things that have a high "official" price, but a much lower real price to the dealer, so you're probably more likely to get them than asking for cash.

Thank you again for your advice… I think that seems reasonable and appropriate. They’re still backpedaling, trying to claim the 23R6 wasn’t done, in spite of my official documentation to the contrary, and also that there’s no way they would have mentioned FSH on their “irretrievable” advert copy, in spite of my accurate recall so far, and their woeful history of errors and misinformation…it’s like dealing with Liz Truss & co

I’ve edited the quick one, but as the othered are pictures I can’t do it right now. I’ve left the report as review and hopefully someone will pick it up before I’m back at a desktop. 👍

Thank you 🙏

I managed to blank out the latter image, but I'm afraid I couldn't update the one in your first post, so I have removed it instead for privacy.

If you want to upload one with the info blanked out/hidden, then you'll need to put it in a new post sadly.

Thanks
