Swap standard VRS exhaust for back box delete

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have been a lurker to these forums until now - nice to meet you all.

I've recently bought a Mk3 Octavia VRS, which has a back box delete.  I mostly sit on motorways, so this isn't the exhaust for me!  If anyone is looking for one, and has a standard VRS one in exchange, let me know.  Equally, if anyone is selling a standard VRS exhaust, because they're upgrading to something else, let me know.

Thanks!!

Might be cheaper to find a custom exhaust company to fit in a box again for you.

Yep, probably a good shout.  I got a shock when I asked the servicing garage (not a main dealer) how much it would be to add back in the boxes!

@danpollard Agreed with Ecomatt, here.

If others have had the same experience as myself, when having the OEM exhaust removed, the garage had to basically cut it up to take it off effectively. So any OEM VRS exhaust would likely be in pieces requiring welding to fit back together.

You might as well look to get a quality aftermarket one, many of them are not droney 👍

Thanks for the advice!

There's a full Vrs Tsi system on ebay for £80, collection only so depends where you are. I have fitted the back boxes for the Tsi on my 2016 Vrs Tdi for purely cosmetic reasons. Had to put a joiner in as didn't want the front silencer.
