Heater matrix pipes leak?

Featured Replies

Hello,

First time posting so hello. I have a 2011 fabia that had no heat. Thermost and water pump were changed and still no heat, took heater matrix out and it was full of red silty gunk. I've put a new one in and put pipes back on and it's leaking. Not quite where the hose couplings click in but literally there. Any ideas? Also can I get rid of the quick couplings? One was solid and was a nightmare to remove. One final question... Is there a wrong to put the matrix in? Measured up same as old one.

Thank you

There should be two seals that sit in the ends of the pipe, I find these go hard and brittle.

The v bands are a compete **** to get on and sat right. What I did was put an airbag from my lockout kit on the other side of the heater matrix and used it to apply some pressure to push the matrix tight onto the hoses while I pushed the pipes the other way, put the v-band on and did it up. That way you only need 3 hands rather than 4.

Having the same issue, did you manage to sort it?
