Blower motor or control unit issue?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My Octy 1.9tdi Elegance blower motor has just stopped working - I’m not sure if it’s a control issue or issue with the motor itself.

The lights indicating fan speed above the dial still work and the terminals on the motor read 10.54v however this voltage does not change as I turn the dial. Can I assume it’s not a motor issue if the voltage isn’t changing? I have also checked fuses and as far as I can see they’re all good.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tested the motor directly?

If it's the original motor the brushes could well be worn/stuck.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve sorted it now, found a lot of debris inside the actual motor that was jamming it.
