Has anyone ever installed a DAB & Car Play radio in a Mk1 Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever installed a DAB & Apple Car Play, Double Din/Single DIN radio in a Mk 1 Skoda Fabia 2002 plate. Factory installed radio is kaput & only so much of my own humming I can stand!
If you have done, could you tell me which model radio is best & I appreciate I will need a new aerial too.

 Thank you

I've fitted a Pioneer sph da230dab in a 2004 vRs. I bought it from a member here two to three years ago at a very reasonable price.

Easy enough to  install from memory. Just needed a new fascia trim piece & dab aerial. I got one which sticks to the windscreen & it works fine.

I've not got any pics to hand but will try to remember to get some.

It also allows a reversing camera if you fancy one.

Delroy, thank you very much for your response, this is very helpful. I am most appreciative.

Same here with the pioneer radio. You need to remove the glovebox so you can get the dab aerial up to the windscreen. I removed the a pillar on the passenger side and ran the microphone upto the interior light as the mic will fit in there.

This is my sph230dab fitted with the extra cup holder on the passenger sideC9A81984-2744-47DB-B0AB-84ED6F0D5B8C.jpeg

Brilliant, thank you for the advice and information. I shall try to do as neat a job as you have. Incidentally, from where did you get the cup holder?
kind regards

Think it was about £40 from TPS. If you do fit a double din you have a small gap let at the top. I have a spare skoda radio blank that i could sell

Thank you. I will research suitable head units shortly. If I need the blank, how much for yours?

£15 plus postage
