Hi everyone, new here and have been reading about the door locks. Previous owner had the dead lock problem and got it open and was unable to find the correct new lock, so he put in a lock that didn't work! He also threw away the old lock, that leaves me with not knowing the correct part number for the mk1 vrs. I took a chance and ordered a lock new and fitted it but it doesn't work (no locking function at all) There is 6v at the connector and i can activate the auto windows.

 

The car is a Uk spec car and I need the passenger side lock part number. The website I ordered from have about 5/6 locks with different part numbers.

 

So the question is, does anyone know what the part number is? Or point me in the direction of a website where I can research it? I would be very grateful indeed.

This page should have the info you need. Pay close attention to the column where left, right and LHD/RHD are differentiated.

For each side of each LHD/RHD version there are three options, non-central locking, C/L with key only, and radio remote C/L.
