Are recent Scala 1.5 DSG engines doing the kangaroo jumps as well ?

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm about to place an order for a new Scala, and I'm trying to find out whether the 1.5 DSG engine on the Scala is also affected by the kangaroo issue where after a cold start, the rpm's oscillate around 1100. Is this less common on the Scala or has it been resolved for recently manufactured cars ?

No all been rectified no problems at all now have been for sometime

I  have the 1.5 SEL manual. I still get "kangaroo jumps" hot or cold. I gave up with the dealers they say ......ITS A CHARACTERISTIC  OF THIS ENGINE !!!!!

I just over rev now, probably burn the clutch out soon, I dont care anymore, fed  up of stalling at mid traffic lights.

Im also gonna reply to the other guy with the battery issue.

Hope you have luck with SKODA you will need it.

I have the 1.5 manual never had kangaroo jumping so don’t think it’s a characteristic probably dealer fobbing you off have you had the update to stop it

'They' say a characteristic.

It is an Engineering fundamental fail.

Not all do it, and people would not accept if they all did.

Those that really have issues should not be accepted by anyone who buys a car expecting it in this day and age to behave correctly,

but then Dealership staff and others are panning them off with the 'They all do that', or Never seen that before'.

Basically they could not give a fig.
