2005 Octavia estate central locking issue

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, my name is Lee and am the owner of an 05 plate Octavia 4x4 estate and I'm trying to work out why the doors don't open when I press the unlock button. I have to get in and press the button inside to unlock everything.

New battery required?

key fob or main battery ?

Does the key lock the car?

Does the red LED on the key flash when you press a button?

The key and fob lock the car but only unlocks the driver door and yes led flashes on the fob.

Double press to unlock all doors.

You should be able to long-press the unlock/lock buttons to remotely open/close all windows but unless you deactivate the internal motion sensor run the risk of having the alarm activate due to air currents passing through the cabin.

Thanks MicMac, I'll give that a go in the morning.

VCDS can be used to make that a single press action.

Or in the Maxidot if the OP has it fitted.

Thanks guys, I tried it this morning and works off double press so will look at getting someone up Hertfordshire way to have a look at that for me over Xmas as up there for a week.

The Carista app will also allow you to change the unlocking you prefer on 1 or 2 presses or just driver's door/all or with/without the boot.
