Emergency Unlocking

Featured Replies

Hi - I have a 2006 mk2 Octavia. The battery has died and I can’t get access. I’ve tried both keys and they only go in the lock about 5mm and then seem to hit something. Anyone help?

Drivers door?

Have you never manually unlocked the drivers door before?

I am guessing that the small cover over the key slot has either stuck or even broken away and obstructing the full width of the key slot. Try some light lubricant first. If that doesn't work take a careful close look to see what is blocking the slot. Then use a thinner key or a small pick to try to pull out the obstruction.

If you have powdered graphite - or even a soft pencil (not coloured) try some of that on the key blade.
