PS2 Network Play

Featured Replies

Im thinking of getting a ps2 network adapter to play online via broadband. Are there any charges to use the service, e.g monthly subscriptions?

I bought one of these last Xmas and installed it and connected it to the network. No charges for that (it uses the existing broadband connection), but I've yet to actually play against anyone with it

Chris

I recnetly bought a network adapter form here http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Piranha-Technology first class service.

Finally got round to playing Toca 3 online the other week, its a good laugh! Some people seem to take it far too seriously though and whinge like hell if you make the slightest bit of contact.

no charges and yea people do take toca rather too seriously online

What cable is reqd to connect it to my router???? I'm gonna have to get a 20-30m cable so wanna get the right type.

I play Toca online which I have to agree with other posters, people take it far too seriously. Also other people are far too good! Pro Evo is very very good online, I probably play PE5 the most out of all my Network Play games.

Cheers matey....... I'm gonna look around for a cheap Network Adapter cos i'm getting a PS3 later this year so might just wait till then before going online rather than spending money on the network adapter for the PS2 and then get rid in a few months. If i do find a cheap one then i'll get the PS2 online as a stop-gap though.

Anyone using there PS2 online?

I've finally got round to hooking mine up so have been playing Pro Evo 5 and Burnout revenge all weekend.

It would be good to play someone who doesn't just abuse me when I win on either of the games...

Nope sorry, Sony lost themselves another customer with all the delays to the PS3...... I got an Xbox360 at xmas.

There were four of us at work, all die hard Playstation bods, and what with the delays, pricing & not being fully backward compatible as originally stated we have all moved over to the xbox 360 rather than go for the PS3.

We've all still kept the PS2's but none of us are online with the PS2 just the xbox 360.

Did I say burnout revenge??:o Sorry meant Burnout Takedown. Just got in and remembered that I traded it in a few weeks ago.:o:O

I know what you mean Dave, I've been eyeing up a 360 for a few months now, some of the games look truly awesome. Not sure how I'd sneak it past SWMBO though...

Has anyone tried plugging a hard drive into their network adaptor? I keep meaning to, but have never got round to it. Just wondered if it actually does anything?

not yet but I've got a load of spare disks sat round so I might try this tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on...

I know it's sad but all four of us at work who have 360's were like kids just before & after xmas....... We all had them bought as xmas presents by the better halves. :o :O :o
