Tail light spray

Featured Replies

Hey dudes..

Thinkin of getting my rear lights sprayed like this:

What you think? I'll be using black magic paint again, one coating.

That looks the dogs danglies!

just tint them all black .....imho they look cool

They look good, I'll admit that...

But I think they'l significantly reduce the light output.

I had mine tinted by a friend,he just addded a bit of black paint to some laquer and that way you get a nice gloss finish on them

Cool response. Thought it would be.

My dealer will be doing it for me :)

I tinted the rear indicators on my Scooby with some spray from Halfords to remove the bright orange on them. It took quite a few coats, but despite that didn't affect the light output at all :D

Looks good.. but will the brake light ever appear again at night? and wut about just tinting the lights at Emirates gas station?? i think it would be better than painting them and will look as good

Mine are painted black magic and laquered. Light output is fine. I don't have any pics to hand though.

and this is wut i did to mine :p

Habibi, I had that a long time ago, the exact same thing, from Emcool. It will come out after a while though, I'm telling you now. I had the fronts done too but those came off slowly. Tat's why it's better to go fro the spray. And yes, you'd still be able to see the lights :)

I think it looks pretty good but, you have to be able to see the lights.

I've seen kits where you get uprated rear bulbs to avoid reducing light output by too much. Also, Ive heard of people "t-cut"ing the areas near the bulbs to increase light output.

I think it all depends on just how dark you want them. The darker you want them, the more spray goes on. There was a dog's dinner of a saxo driving round my way with them completely sprayed silver. From what I heard, he was pulled 2 or 3 times and fined and was threatened with points.......he didn;t have time to change them though as later that week he wrote it off!..................At least that's one less saxo on the road! lmao!

Those wheels are awesome, anyone know what they are?

They're Skoda wheels :) From the 1.8T Octavia.

top tip for painting tal lights is to use really fine wet and dry and rub the E markings part number etc off.

looks so much better close up.
