Dash Cam power port ?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Before I go and break something, was hoping to find out if there is a hidden usb behind here for powering a dash cam ? (Kodiaq Edition 2018) Thanks in advance.

No.

USB up there is only on the facelift Kodiaq - and it's on the windscreen mount bit, not the mirror itself.

I think it's a light sensor for the auto-dimming mirror, don't touch! 🤝

That's on the mirror face - as it reacts to light from behind the car...

I am used to the older ones in previous cars, where you have sensor on both sides.

One checks front to see if there's night/daylight and a sensor on the mirror glass side to react to headlights.

You could make it react by covering that section on the back.

It's not too difficult running a power lead up from the fusebox. See the Guides section for excellent instructions. I can confirm the author's comment that the only (slightly) tricky bit is getting the glovebox fully open to access the fuses. Not a job for this cold weather though!
