It's in the VRs Octavia if thats what you mean.

Nothing in writing as far as I know, but have been told before xmas this year by sales dept.

Oh date... doh.

I was told a local dealer had one coming in for demo end of August, with customer orders from week 31.

Not sure how true this is mind, but was reading it off their computer system. :)

My local dealer is taking delivery of 2 demo cars on 18th September (week 38).

My local dealer is talking about September. They contacted Skoda while I was in the garage last week. No idea of price.

Anyone else have any idea regarding the price?

I'll believe it when I see one on the forecourt

Steve

I was also told Aug/Sept and possibly

Been to local stealer today........He reckoned sept, base model about £18.5K

Hatch is confirmed at £18390.

I think the first lot to be in at dealers will be Race Blue with 18's for demo purposes in August.

Hmm Was thinkning about Leon but £500 for a new VRs, Hmm Might even stretch to an estate. Mainly cause i'm sick of the water ****ing in the boot from the MK I and believe they should have fixed it for the MK II

Do we know any other detail changes between the diesel and petrol VRS models? Is it just the engine or is anything else different?

Just the engine. No other specification changes.

The engine will be heavier so it will be neccessary to fit stronger springs and stiffer roll bars, obviously there will be many differences in the transmision/driveshafts etc too.

Stiffer anti roll bars might work as an upgrade for the petrol version too!

It's not as simple as just putting a diesel engine in instead of a petrol one.

Now I can order it in Sweden. Same price for the 2.0TFSI estate as for the 2.0 TDI hatchback. In Sweden we can build a car on the Swedish Skoda homepage. This is the car that I build. Prices in Swedish crowns. Translate it yourself.

Grundpris: 232 900 kr

They've been available to order over here since the first week in June for arrival in the next 2-3 weeks... according to the main distributor and 2 dealers... (I checked just in case)

I've alread pre-booked a test drive. :)

I spoke with Skoda UK last week after difficulties in obtaining a test drive in an Octy 2.0 TDi Estate with 2 local dealers. Skoda still maintain this car will not come to the UK and they say any dealers who say otherwise are mistaken.

I can understand a degree of caution before a new model is launched, but aren't Skoda UK being rather silly considering how easy it is to find information these days and also the fact that the car is already on sale elsewhere?

They told me that it would. I don't think that customer service knows what's going on.
