(It's a spare strut brace by the way - must get round to selling it as I don't need 2 of them! )

What do I think?

I think you should pop round and do mine too! :D

Looks lovely.

You are so going to get bombarded with offers for that brace unless I get in there first dibs....

Cheers :o

There's actually a problem with the brace which is why I got a replacement - It got slightly bent at the attachment end where you screw it onto the car during shipping to me. I figured I'd get a replacement from the dealer I got it from rather than risk it though

TBH, my insurer isnt at all mod friendly so it'd be no use to me 'til next year anyway, unless I change insurers...

Looks great, love the garage too!

**dreams of his old garage**

I dont have one anymore!!

Excellent job looks brill......big problem with garage though.....you can get a car in it!!!!! that's bad:P

It's a new garage... I expect it wont be long before the other side (the one I don't use ;)) is too full of products for my car to fit anyone elses in!

 Wow! That looks fantastic. Mine looks embarrassingly filthy at the moment. My current excuse is that I'm waiting for a day when there isn't bright sunshine :o

I would seriously pay you to make my car look like that

:rubchin: surrey isn't that too far from me :D

I'm not good enough to charge for it (except for charging to clean my little brother's car ;)). It's a shame, because I'd love to do it for a living or even a sideline... It'd be something of a dream job :(

Anyway, it's not perfect! I didn't have time to do the inside of the wheels or the wheel arches!

nice job, you did well to get the glossy appearance from the acryclic sealant.

I'd be interested to hear how you feel it looks in 6 mths. I ve used these too albeit some time ago and it looked really faed after 6 mths so be nice to see one that lasts.

nice garage too

Wow Wow Wow if you ever have some time for some beer tokens i'll travel over and let you do mine

I'll still keep up the washing of it, I'll probably do it every other week now instead of every week, and it'll be getting wax on top of it all so I hope it'll stay looking good!

i'd be interested in your thoughts on what could be used on a Silver car that hasnt had a good clean and wax for about 6 months?

i was going to use Meg's gold class shampoo to wash

then go over the whole car with meg's clay bar and mist spray

then diamond brite the car with the 2 pack prep and sealant

then wax with meg's gold class polish.

what do you think?

BTW DangerMouse, your car looks awesome... i love the black Skodas when really clean.

That's what I'd do if you've already got the diamondbrite kit. I'm not 100% convinced at the effectiveness of diamondbrite as yet - need to give it some time (and I havent seen my car in the light since finishing it up!). If you're not a fan of washing and waxing it probably makes more difference - I like cleaning mine so probably wont have much of a different result compared to just washing and waxing (or topping up) every week or two.

Does that make sense? I think I had too much 1664 at lunch

Ok couple of pointers:

wash with Fairy, this will help move any lingering muck, and wax, as you are going to clay, no point using car shampoo

GCCC has some cleaners in it, and so application will remove the DB sealant.... replace the GCCC with a pure wax and you should be ok.

Hi My car was jewelultred by garage as extra to help with sale, it is burn orange in colour and when washed looks brilliant. How long ago did you ultra your car? I find a quick wash really and it showroom again but mine is parked outside constant. So much easier to wash and always looks brilliant. You do use the "konserver" after washing do you apparently it adds a thin elastic skin over the car. Please get back to me about your use of Jewelultra as I no one else who has had it applied, and am curious to what others think of it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Won't Fary removve the jewel ultra and any waxes n the car anyway?

My eye my eyes-he
