Question re cambelt VW T-ROC.

Featured Replies

Just asking for the mother-in-law.

She has a T-Roc coming up to 5 years & has had an email from VW advising her to get the Campbeltown changed.

She's only don 5500 miles in it. Is it really necessary to have it changed?

Nothing is necessary with servicing and maintenance, many do what suits them, personally at that i might not have it changed.

She has decide as VW give the advice or recommendation or even have the schedule as being at 5 years.

It is a gamble that might cost dear.

The belt could be inspected for a small expense.

?

What engine has the car?

It's a 1.5 tsi

@Previouslyrobygerrard That can be the issue with the Service Desk staff and the likes of those with the first 1.5TSI ACT inquiring about have the Timing Belt replaced.

@PreviouslyrobygerrardWhat was the decision, just leave it?

With this it might be me up the wrong dreel.    (Scottish language, a drill of potatoes)

The car might have a 1.5 TSI and not a 1.5 TSI ACT and that is a different price.  But then i do not know if the VW T-Roc did get a 1.5 TSI that did not have Active Cylinder Technology.

She's decided to swap it for a new T-cross!!

@Previouslyrobygerrard  I think quite a lot might do that with 1.5TSI ACT's that they had intended to keep.

We will see how many get sold at Main Dealers or more likely just go off to Auction or into the trade without the Timing Belt being replaced.
