Car won't start "press clutch" on dash

Hi lads. Hoping someone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have a 2011 VRS tfsi, that has developed a weird problem. It won't start intermittently, press clutch comes up on dash. We have replaced the clutch switch/clutch position switch. It seemed to fix it for a week. Wouldn't start again, it cud eventually start after turning ignition constantly for 15 mins, then might turn. Checked all the wiring to the clutch switch for a break in wiring, nothing. 

No faults coming up on either of the 2 readers I have used. 

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
