TDI 200 high oil consumption

Featured Replies

Hello, my Octavia RS TDI got now 20 000 km and i already add 4 liters of oil in engine !

they told me it's normal, but never i see a brand new car with such oil consumption !!!

Was the oil level correct when the car was collected when checked at operating temperature as it should be & also when stone cold?

?

How is the car used, short cold start trips, or longer up to temp trips.

Some oil consumption in the first 5,000 km and higher in that time is what the Owners Manual says, but they have for every engine for decades.

Then the may use 0.5 litres / 1,000 Km that has been said for years / decades.

4 litres in 12,500 miles is quite a lots.       Personally i would be doing an oil and filter change now and not wait to 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months.

EVEN THOUGH IT IS LIKE GETTING OIL CHANGES JUST BY HOW MUCH GETS PUT IN IT.

So new oil & filter, the Correct amount of oil. Service indicator reset.

Dealership informed of the oil use incase it gets worse not better.

I take it is is the crap VW509 00 , 0w 20 FS IV oil that is uses and you are topping up with.
