What Porsche say about driving EV efficiently(?)

Featured Replies

This approach is also evident in VW group's MEB cars. Standard D mode aways allows the car to coast rather than brake via regen. Its very reminiscent of ECO mode on my old Karoq, which disengaged the engine and allowed coasting. I find D mode to be most economic on cross country trips, the B mode with immediate regen is too intrusive. However in urban areas B mode shines due to constant braking at roundabouts and junctions. B mode is also most economic in this type of driving.

^^^ Exactly.

Big differences in towns / city limits and out on open roads.

Porsche Taycan as a city car not that environmentally friendly anyway.  Heavy taking up road space and often occupied by just a driver.

Maybe they should do a Sporty Small car or just a Porsche version of an Up!MiiCitigo like Aston Martin did with a Cygnet (Toyota iQ)

That would be hilarious fun!

Of course to be most efficient, the less conversion the more efficient. Regen braking and then accelerate will never be as efficient as keeping the vehicle rolling.

1-pedal driving is more about convenience. Just release go pedal when want to stop.

It is also possible to drive efficiently without switching modes. I always drive in B mode in every EV I've ever driven. It's a simple matter of finding the spot in the go-pedal that does not command forward power or regen braking.

Haha, love the idea of a Cygnet-like EV.

I loved my IQ as it was much better on corners and more fun than the Original Minis of which i had a few, and Metro's.

More room as well.

I will never understand why Toyota never did one as an EV because it could have taken the battery and the motor easily enough,

Once Suzuki get the EV Jimny on sale or a Swift Size one they will be on a winner.
