One touch window resetting

Featured Replies

Am fitting an after market HU and just to be on the safe side will disconnect the battery, however I'm told that this will affect the one touch windows.

How do I reset the windows, is there a procedure or do I need a VAG-COM?

I think it's just a case of holding the button to move the window to the extreme positions and keeping the button pressed for a count of 5, then moving the window to the other extreme position.

You can do it using the door key.

Put the key in the drivers door, turn it and keep it turned until the window lowers (Can't remember which direction sorry) Once the window is down turn the key fully in the opposite direction and raise the window.

Job Done.

Similarly the temperature setting for the aircon sometimes gets upset, same kinda procedure tends to fix it (just turn it right down, wait for a bit till you feel the aircon kick in hard, then turn it right up to max, ditto for heat, then just set it again as per your preferences)..

Sunroof if you have one sometimes gets a tad confused too, at least it sorts itself out :)

After a recent visit to the dealer to get fuel pump replaced, my Octy lost it's one touch window function. I assume the battery was disconnected to do the work.

However, the next morning when i turned on the ignition, the windows had reset themselves:thumbup: Hey presto!
