New Kodiaq order

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have placed an order with my local dealership about 2 weeks ago for a Kodiaq SE L Executive 1.5 7 seat. The deanship has just informed me that Skoda have not yet accepted my order. From your experience about how long does it take for the Skoda factory to accept a new order?

Varies considerably.   Have heard of them going through almost straight away, and others waiting few months.

Apparently there are quotas (and target volumes) for various countries within Europe, and for dealers.   The basic aim is to stop one dealer placing large orders then others can't get them.

What your dealer probably won't have volunteered (unless you specifically asked the exact question) is what is their quota for the month and how many have they sold.   Eg if they have 5 Kodiaq in a month, your the 6th, factory might wait until next month.   Even been rumours of some dealers quietly sticking order form in a draw and not even putting order through to next month.

Pop into your dealer, get them to print out a system order and a screen print of the order status.  If they can't find it on the system then create trouble as it means they are holding it against next months target volume.

My order was only accepted a few weeks before they started to build the car.

As I type, my new Kodiaq is at Week 17 from order date. I’m expecting it this month.

It can take a few weeks for the dealer to see a Build week for the order.  Go look over his shoulder at his computer screen when he wakes up his order info screen.

After build is confirmed, he can see transit info, such as waiting at Emden dock, on a boat to UK, etc.

Just politely nag dealer occasionally, then sit back and enjoy the ride.

My petrol is coming much quicker than a diesel would have. I’m told.

And it includes a number of extras so I didn’t know how chip troubles are these days.

I think they've (mostly) mitigated those issues by removing options etc. that use chips that are in short supply.
