Octavia vrs hatchback 2023 mud guards.

Featured Replies

Hi guys took delivery of my new octavia vrs estate 2023 on 1st march.

Looking at purchasing mud flaps for it but struggling to get ones that deff fit. Any help appreciated guys..

www.kopacek.com sells various bits and boobs for all Skoda models.

I had a set from them fitted by my panel shop and apart from the material they are made from not being as study as some other flaps I've had on my previous (non-Skoda) cars, they seem to be up to the job.

They claim free delivery in the EU but I wonder if the UK falls within that classification.

I posted the link I used for original Skoda items on eBay. For perfect. Wouldn’t look elsewhere until you don’t like the factory items and prefer a longer mudflap or something. JSTARRAW92 on eBay is the seller with seemingly everything Skoda oem.

Wounded. Same as mine but shinier and on a newer plate. And your petrol flap probably opens fine too 😂🤦🏼‍♂️

It doesn't, there are many items I have previously purchased from Kopacek before Brexit which they now will not ship to the UK.

I am surprised that they do not service the UK any more.

They were willing to ship the F & R flaps and door sill plates to me in NZ.

Brexit, the gift that keeps taking away...

Just a note to all mud flaps users. I just removed the flaps yesterday after the winter and I noticed there are marks/scratches on the rear bumper on the vertical line where flap touches the bumper.  There are small bumps on the flaps which prevent that flap is in contact with the bumper in full length, but exactly those small bumps caused those marks/scratches. On two points it looks like the paint is scratched off completely to the black plastic.

A bit better picture for showing.

Do you think it's possible to rub down small bumps before fitting???

I’ll be honest I bought the mudflaps to reduce the sheer amount of sprayed up road gunk across the back and sides of the car. But do I think they work? Nope. Still terrible. It surely helps but it def doesn’t work. Coupled with the marking the paint I’d say don’t ever remove them and if you think you will don’t ever fit them in the first place.

The gaps will always get dirty and even with a smooth finish the bumper and flap will always rub over time. I noticed only last night that the rear flaps have a huge amount of gritty grime behind them 🤦🏼‍♂️

I'm sure it is possible. But then you will have a whole vertical part of the flap in contact with the bumper and even bigger chance for scratches. In any case I think the solution would be to remove those small bumps and to put something soft in between the flap and the bumper. Like a strip of self adhesive foam or rubber. But there is still chance some dirt or stones will come in between.

Fitted them today and I see what you mean. Think I'm going to run a small bead of clear silicone to seal them..
