Surround sound & virtual sub? Non-Canton

Featured Replies

Hi All

On both my old Mk3 Octavia and Karoq I was able to code the additional menu function for surround sound and virtual subwoofer (both non-Canton) - additional tick boxes appeared on the ‘sound’ menu and the sound was improved tenfold! Believe these had Columbus units.

I can’t see that this is an option on my Mk4 (non-Canton too)

I saw a couple of posts pointing at controller 5F, byte 11 bit 2 activation, which I’ve done, but can’t see any additional options in the sound menu, and can’t quite tell if it’s made any difference to the sound - certainly not the night and day difference that I had on my previous cars!

Anyone done anything similar, or had any success with this? Or can it even be done???

Thanks

Steve

Did you do the reset of the unit after the coding? Holding the power button until it restarts? Not sure if it will help with the MK4 but I know it had to be done on the mk3s and the menu only appeared in Mib2 and 2.5 I think.
