Sometimes the passenger door strip doesnt light up (all the rest work). I have not worked out yet in what conditions it doesnt work. Are there any common faults with them that might pin it down to a possible fix?

If it's intermittent on just the one, sounds like a dodgy connection/loose wire.

 

Might be worth looking at the workshop manuals and seeing where the module that controls all the light strips is, then working your way back to the door from there.
