How long until you get told about parking ticket?

Featured Replies

I had an "encounter" with a "burly" lady traffic warden at the Blackpool meet last Saturday and I was left wondering if I'd been caught or not - she just walked off after muttering about my windows being down.

How long until I can breathe knowing I won't be

AFAIK the PCN has to be attached to your car or handed to you for it to be valid...

She was tapping in my reg into some handheld machine then walked off, but nothing was actually left on my car. Hoping the shufty one knows how the local system works. ;)

i'm still tapping my toes since i was flashed on M25 on way home from blackpool meet! How long before a speeding ticket arrives

round here the traffic wardens put everyones reg number into a little hand computer thing-then they know if they have exceeded the time they are allowed or not!

For having your windows down?

I don't know - I was an hour over my ticket bought earlier that morning, so I was winging it as I was by the car and we were about to go for the drive. Then I need to go for a pee, and lo and behold little miss barrel of laughs is by my car tapping my reg number into her machine when i come back. No ticket yet and its 6 days after.

maybe she tapped it in wrong. ;)

iirc 14 days plus 3 days postage , so 17 days to notify you of intended prosicution , there are a couple of websites that deal with technicalities of the speeding laws , pepipoo.com is one

thanks, so annoyed went off when i was doing only 76 indicated and I was the only car on the road @ 1 in morning. Oh well, grin and bare it.

Hope yours doesnt come to anything Jason. She was saying you were an hour over when you said ud only just got back she said ur windows were down so oviosuly hadn't5 been away.

I think parking wardens have to observe your car over a period of time. I recently got done for not paying & displaying in Huddersfield. Ticket had two times on it, first noted and time of penalty notice, about 10 mins apart.

Also had 2 pictures of the car on a website,to show that the yellow sticker had been issued.

Hope this helps!

Well nothing got attached to my car after, apart from another 3 hour ticket.... then we left 20 minutes later. :grumpy: :D

If you get a ticket i will send you my pay and display ticket that was valid at the time you would have got booked.Just say your ticket fell on the floor.

I wouldn't do that. It probably says either on the ticket or the machine, how the ticket must be displayed. There's been a thread about using the ticket clip on the screen and getting a fixed penalty 'cos the ticket was not correctly displayed.

Jason, I wouldn't worry about it, if she hasn't issued you a ticket, you aint going to get one.

In this electronic age I can only worry..... However if the rules say that some form of notification has to be adhered to your screen/window, then I am in the clear. I just wish little miss surly traffic warden had been a little more clear instead of mumbling about my windows and waddling off down the seafront.

Maybe her directives say she must fix the ticket to the driver's door window......a bit hard when its between your door skin and interior panel:rofl:

 Indeed. Good job I did leave the windows right down then.

Ah! twas your car then!

It gave me chance to go and renew my ticket before she spotted me ;)

Cheers

 So I was bending one of their parking rules. Never mind. I at least thought Des would have dashed out with £3 to get me a ticket damn fast instead of ringing me. ;)
