Red oil light intermittingly flashing

Just a thought, I don't know these VAG engines at all, but I have had experience of other makes in the past (Ford Leyland etc). Is it possible that you have the wrong dipstick - perhaps one intended for another car model, and thus giving an incorrect reading? I remember on some Ford's their engines had different shaped sumps which meant having a slightly different length dipstick.

I have the same problem with the red oil light flashing 5 times and beeping 3 times once in a while.

It's a Skoda Fabia Mk1 1,2 Hatchback.

The oil pressure sensor has been changed and the pressure has been checked and is okay.

A mechanic said it could probably be "the module".

Really would like to fix this problem too.

Check for cracked solder joints of the green 32-way connector of the instrument cluster; pin 23 is where the pressure switch connects to/through.

If you have any other questions after checking that, please start your own thread in the Mk1 Fabia sub-forum, rather than further hijacking Marcusjohn's thread. 🙂

The stick fits perfectly on the rim if you know what I mean. It's one that clicks on the top.

I suspect I am going to have to check the oil pump after all.

A long shot this but can you find a part number on the dipstick?  If so you should be able to check it's the correct one for your motor.
