Usb socket power?

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Can anyone tell me what the power output of the usb sockets in the front & rear of the car is please?

I ordered the wireless charger with the car, but it came without it, so looking to install a wireless charger/holder myself on a windscreen suction cup. But they seem to want 18W as a minimum.

Thanks

I do not know the spec but my Pixel 3a phone which supports fast charging and comes with an 18W charger indicates fast charging when connected to the Octavia via a USB C cable to the front console USB ports  and it charges back up to full in an hour or so while driving, even with Android Auto running and music and navigation active. This indicates to me that it probably offers at least 15-18W. The other ports might differ - 1 near the mirror, or 2 in the rear.

I attached an Aukey wireless charger to a USB socket in the front and it powers up and charges my phone perfectly.

It won't do fast charging as Samsung have some weird proprietary charging algorithm that stops it charging at full speed with almost anything that's not Samsung approved or Samsung branded.

Here in europe I asked my dealer what the max power supplied by the USB C ports of a Skoda Octavia on order.

He replied saying that each port can supply up to 1.5A.
