Afternoon everyone.

Just thought I'd pop a post up to say hi.

Was on here for quite a bit a few year back when I owned two mk3 & mk3.5 Octavia VRS.

I sold them due to moving into a company car which Im now losing due to moving jobs and have bought a 2018 Superb sportline 220 as my daily driver.

Plan is to give it a good clean and maybe a stage one map at some point but no rush.

Hey skoda nerds (affectionate) I'm looking to see if someone could recommend a way to diagnose the a/c leak I have on the early 1.6 petrol. I was going to take it to a garage today for a diagnosis but they were short staffed and had to postpone. In talking to a guy at the reception, he then said they would only be able to confirm there is a leak but not where from, so not very helpful. I rang around and the UV die test is around £150, very expensive if you ask me just for diagnosis. Funny enoug

Lower tyre pressures to improve ride?

I'm very happy with my Mk.SEL except for the somewhat harsh ride. Previous VW's had a 'comfort' setting for tyre pressures so would it be sensible to reduce the presures on the 16" tyres by about 4psi from the normal settings of 37psi/ 40psi ? I'd be very grateful for comments.

Hi again Hoping for some more good advice! Cam belt is at 40K ,5 years approx. I know there is a lot of controversy around timings of cam belt changes,and it seems the precautionary principle is the main view.Expensive principle but fair enough.I was having the belt changed because I could occasionally here a low rumble at tick over. Thinking tensioner pulley or something potentially very nasty. However,the rumble disappears when the clutch is pressed,and on my VW T4 I was told a new dual mass

Hi there cant find my manual so does anyone now off hand how much oil a 1.6tdi CAYC octavia takes. Have it in my head 4 litres but not sure if that includes filter etc. . I already have 4 litres of oil but dont want to start changing it in case I need extra as I would need car to go and get some. Alasdair

My 1.8tsi Octavia scout coolant pump was leaking via the impeller. I'd like to change the small belt (not the big timing belt!) that spins the impeller as well as the pump etc but the left handed bolt is stuck. I've not tried too much force as the captive gear it holds moves when I try and I'm concerned that I might break something internally. Would anybody have any experience removing this bolt or known methods of doing so? The photo shows the gear and the bolt I'm refering to is holding this g
