Foot rest

Featured Replies

My wifes manual Karoq has a footrest to left of the clutch, hardly ever used. My Kamiq with a DSG box doesn't, but would be really useful as there's no clutch so need somewhere to rest my left foot! Do Kamiqs not have them or is mine missing?

Edit: before someone comments I don't rest my foot on the clutch :)

My Kamiq Monte carlo has a foot rest, for precisely that reason.

And my 72 plate 1500 dsg has one

Hmmmn ... not on mine

I had a look and mine is only fastened by 1 screw in the side so should be easy to fix if you can find the bit of plastic

I think there's been an earlier thread on this.

My 2020 Kamiq has one.

The footwell area is probably better on Left Hand Drive cars.

On LHD, the accelerator pedal goes in a comfortable place for the right foot, ie. not pushed awkwardly to the left by the wheelarch intrusion. On LHD, the accelerator pedal is often bottom hinged, whereas on RHD the accelerator is often top hinged. A bottom hinged accelerator is often more comfortable than a top hinged accelerator pedal.

On RHD, there is often not enough space to the left side of the clutch pedal for a comfortable footrest.

On LHD, the foot rest for the left foot can be in a comfortable place, ie. on the wheelarch intrusion.

Yet they think they are 'simply clever' giving you an umbrella and a ice scraper worth about £5!
