Honor 50 and Android Auto/Bluetooth - Skoda Octavia MK4

Featured Replies

Hello, newbie here!

I've been using my Samsung A71 with no issues, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Contact Sharing worked perfectly. I 'upgraded' to an Honor 50, that has Android Version 12, and now I'm sporadically having issues with either:

1. Not pairing with car bluetooth at all.

2. Not sharing contacts (favourites are visible). Tried to reset networking settings on phone, removed device from bluetooth settings in car, nothing!

3. When it does connect, sometimes it does load the list of contacts, but 95% of the time it doesn't.

4. I've also tried to re-import contacts, I've checked my contact sharing settings via bluetooth on phone - still not able to.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Below are the error messages I'm receiving upon attempting to 'Import or Re-Import Contacts.

I have had the same issues with the contacts on P30 Pro.

From time to time they were synced, sometimes they were synced but I couldn't get the call-logs synced or got "de-synced" after the first call and sometimes not of all the contacts were synced - I even had a small fight with my spouse when the car didn't recognized her number, as she thought I removed her from my contacts list. :))

There is an app I have used before the update: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmc&hl=en_US

It basically "forced" the sync of the contacts with the infotainment, however the call logs were never synced with it, but it was something I could live without.

The issue with the contacts/call-logs was resolved with the update to 1896 on my infotainment, a thing that now I am regretting completely due to the restarts of the unit quite often at the start of the car.

Thank you so much @Jugaroo!

This helps. I will try the application, and let you know. When did you update infotaintment to 1896? Also, what do you mean by restarts of the unit?

Thank you

I've often had issues with the car losing the contacts on my Motorola G10, which is annoying as I can't use the last number dialed feature to call back etc.  I have just found in the setting menu the option to refresh contacts which brings them back; before that I was having to un pair and re pair my phone.

I seem to have less issues with my work phone, a Samsung A13, on both this and Android Auto so don't know if non-Samsung phones are just not as compatible with the car?

@MCG1975 Thank you. I've tried the refresh various times, but unfortunately no luck! Thank you anyway, it definitely looks to be a non-samsung issue. Hopefully it gets better!

@SkOmk4 @JugarooThank you so much! The question is, shall I  risk the update to fix the contact issue and have my infotainment system restarting?!

I would live without the contacts syncing if I would have the same option now.

Android auto would do this for me in someway so I wouldnt bother too much now.
