That's a LOT of oil fouling, strongly suspect it's from piston blowby.

Intake is covered in oil aswell and the intake is was full of oil. It also had a forged BOV that was spitting oil out everywhere

Any recommendations on what to get? All i know is the kolben pistons are the ones to get

Kolben is piston, You mean KolbenSchmidt or KS who may all sorts of parts. KS, Mahle and Nural are commonly available for this engine OE  the ones I have taken apart have been Nural.

Have you checked the oil level ? It could be literally filled to the brim with oil that would cause it to be shooting it out the PCV to get rid of it

Oil was low actually! Turbo exhaust side is rammed with oil, intake side clean

Blowing past the pistons and out through the exhaust valves, then the turbo, then the cat. Proper ruined.

So sort out pistons and should be okay in my book😂 going to give everything a proper clean when re assembling, just took off exhaust manifold and found these cuts in there is this normal? F9EE68A4-365D-4721-B780-6A4237052BB1.thumb.jpeg.f184c042deaa6bd34b6eb58926e28126.jpeg

As long as the bores are ok then glazebusting them and replacing the pistons and rings should fix it.

Someone has had to disc cut through a rounded off nut.

Do you know why the vehicle ended up at Copart, was there any accident damage?

Its a little concerning that sh1tters like that are being passed on to unsuspecting punters via Copart if they have not been written off.

From what you have achieved so far I would say you are more than competent to complete the job, you are not hampered by thinking you know it all like me when I was young and are asking all the right questions before taking any wrong steps.

Its just such a shame that you should have to be doing this, I hope in the end it works out to be a reliable and still cheapish vehicle.

Copart deals in stolen recovered and finance repossessions as well as accident damaged vehicles.

  • 2 years later...

Did you fix the problem? I am curious to know. Do you have images of the piston blocks after repair?
