Front assist not working

Mine suddenly stopped working nearly 2 years ago and it was a broken bracket that holds the radar on the front grill.  The dealer ran a diagnostic test to find the problem, replaced the bracket and calibrated the camera and it's been fine since then.  I don't know how the bracket broke as the warning started to be displayed when I was driving along at a steady speed and I didn't hit a pothole or speed bump.  There was no damage at the front of the car to suggest someone had nudged it whilst it was parked.

An empty opening post. I'm guessing the title says enough. @Steel Grey 42 let us know if there is more to it.

Happened in France whilst towing. Front assist and cruise control not available, have contacted my UK dealer and Master tech suggests a glitch in the system. Booking diagnostic check on return. First time anything wrong in 7 years . I'll update when I know what they find.

Is the towbar factory fit?

Sorry, late reply to SONICtheONE - the towbar is an aftermarket Westphalia removable installation by a very reputable firm in Christchurch. However, my current problem is now resolved fully (and £300 later), by wheel alignment and re-calibration of front radar. Master Tech could not find a definite reason for the failure.
