Kodiak 2.0 TDI DSG

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

apologies if this is not the correct technical place to ask this question -  a 2020 Kodiak 2.0 TDI 150 BHP Auto DSG in family just stopped with DSG fault - no drive. Car has only 80k kms on it. How can this happen on a car with full service history and just 80k kms (50k miles) on it?   Car is under Skoda dealer warranty - so is it best to push for a complete new gearbox to be fitted?  If dealer decides to repair gearbox, is there still a risk that it still could cause other problems in the near future?  Any advice appreciated.

No car regardless of price or manufacturer is fault free. If it was then there would be no point in having a warranty.

It's the warranty provider who determines the nature of the fix, you can't tell them what course of action to take.

Has the dealer examined the car yet? If their fix caused additional problems then those would be covered under warranty too.

Is that a serious question?

There has been a surprising increase in DSG failures on the Kodiaq recently, seemingly mostly related to the mechatronics.

The symptoms being only odd or even gears being available.
