How is it so hard to find the right springs??

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I own a 2003 Octy estate in the 1.8T 4x4 flavour. She's getting close to 100k now and is developing a few knocks and bumps in the suspension so I've decided to gradually amass the parts to give it all a bit of an overhaul. On finding the bewildering array of available springs, I obviously googled a bit, and despite all the useful threads on here I found - I just can't match anything up!

The rears are obviously 5 orange and should be easy enough, the fronts not so much. I have attached a pic of the springs which are fitted, and the little code label. Is anyone able to give me a steer?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Not that hard if you know what to look for. 👍

G34 and L50 are the pertinent PR codes, those together with the purple + 3 pink paint blobs and you have 1J0 411 105 AN.

be really carefull when youre picking them out on alot of parts websites too. as they tend to lump alot of "compatible" part numbers together from Leons and Golfs etc where the weights and thus spring rates are different. theyll fit but the ride wont be what it should.
