MIB3 Amundsen and Colombus differences ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

What are the differences between MIB3 Amundsen and MIB3 Colombus 9,2" ? Is it just the screen, and the main unit behind remains the same ? Skoda's website is not very explicit.

If I do not take the option, can I proceed to a retrofit or ask my dealer for it ?

Thank you,

Columbus can play multiple video files, has a jukebox partition on the HDD, better internals, made by Harman.

Bolero/Amundsen is made by Delphi or Technisat/Preh.

Another difference is that Columbus will copy maps to internal storage and Amundsen will use it directly from SD.

The MIB3 Amundsen has no SD cards, internal memory for the maps.

Ok thank you. It means if I want to change from Amundsen to Columbus it will require quite a lot of work.. I'll ask Skoda.

If you want to try to change the units over yourself there will be some useful information here
