Obd device

Featured Replies

Hi

I am looking to buy an OBD device, but I don`t know which one. The best ones are very expensive, and I would like one that is not breaking the bank. I know the OBD-11 is a good one, but it is very costly, and it works only on some specific cars. I would like one to cover most of the cars.

Thank you

So which do you want? Something like an OBD II or VCDS that works well on certain marques or a cheap generic reader that makes "close guesses" on everything?

I've got a cheap OBD device £15 years ago I think, that I use with the app Torque on my android phone which was £5 I think. It's good for looking at live data, but only gives a very broad guess at faults as @Paws4Thot said.

I've since got the OBD11 and it's far superior. Just keep getting vag vehicles and you're fine!

I wanted something cheap but I decided not buy anymore because I am going to get another car as I suspect that the engine is going to pack up.

How much is for a VCD, as I am interested.
