AndroidAuto not working with S23Ultra

Featured Replies

Hello, I own a 2022 Kamiq 1.5 TSI DSG, drove 8300 km in it. The car is decent. I didn't configure it as I would have had to wait 1 year, bought one that was on stock.

It's minuses would be:

- the chairs are not that comfortable and I immediately sweat on them...

- the trunk is too small

- I would opt for better speakers

- but I am most disappointed in the fact that I purchased a Samsung S23 Ultra and it doesn't connect with Android Auto. Samsung states on their official website that Skoda is working on an update to fix this. I reached out to Skoda and their reply was that my 1 year old 30K EUR car was "manufactured much earlier". I find this incredibly frustrating and disappointing. So basically sell the car or the phone...unbelievable

As for MirrorLink: https://carconnectivity.org/mirrorlink-operations-sunsetting-by-september-30-2023/

Someone has to do better, either Skoda or the potential buyers...

My old 2015 car with MIB2 system works with AA via USB cable on S23 Ultra.

Do you know firmware in this car?

Hello Varooom,

Thank you for your reply!

Android Auto v3.2.36+MIB3_v1.1.27

Hardware 110

Software 1760

Br

MEN3_EU_SK370_P1185L
MU 1760

I assume this is the firmware in you car, press and hold down your Menu/Setup button for 10 seconds to enter the Engineering menu, see if you can locate and verify above value.

There's a potential update to 1790 if it can be applied...

Thank you! Yes, you are correct, however the only source available is software download from USB ...

Glad it's confirmed.

I do have 1790 you can try and load, but I don't think it cures the Samsung 23Ultra fault 🤔

That portal has never shown a firmware update, despite them existing

so what do you suggest then please? thank you

I have sent you the 1790 & 1798 firmware to try and load.

Cannot guarantee you any success, but at this point you should try to see if you can apply what the dealer would load.

If this software update is for Bolero MMI could you also send it to me?

Need to know what current Software Train you have to be able to send the update(s) as there maybe more than one file needed.

I can see that it is frustrating having something that should work but doesn't - although it looks probable that it's a deficiency on the part of the phone, not of the car - but I do struggle to see what real improvement Android Auto will make to my life!

Perhaps my needs, or my imagination,  are a bit limited, but infotainment already allows me to use my phone and access media player which is all that I really need.  Having looked at a couple of Youtube videos extolling the virtues of Android Auto, I really cannot see what the fuss is about so I made a conscious decision not to activate it.  It may be a bit slicker, but do any of us really, truly need its marginal benefits  which must be a further distraction from the important responsibility of driving?

@FnLn  @Kamiq2022AAnotworking did that update fix Android Auto and your S23Ultra? I'm going to presume by the lack of replies that it didn't?

I have the same issue, but once in a blue moon my phone will connect via Bluetooth. In the months I've had the phone, I think it worked less than 5 times altogether.

I've taken to using a second phone for AA, using my S23Ultra as a hotspot. Very frustrating.

@lastgasp - AA is very handy for Google maps and also for listening to podcasts or music. The podcast/music interface is much better than using the Media player in the car.

@donnchax I did not try it as I'm afraid of losing the warranty if I do it myself. However, I called an official Skoda dealership/service and they were also aware of the issue and were expecting a fix. Bluetooth connection works ...

@lastgaspit s the car's issue, Skoda acknowledged this in our email exchange. See here: https://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com/ It won't work until the phone is listed there.

@Kamiq2022AAnotworking thanks for the reply. Hopefully @FnLn tried it. My car was in for a service a few weeks ago. I mentioned AA not working, but I would have been very surprised if they had tried the update.
